The paper deals with the development of a system in a healthcare environment that simultaneously respects patient autonomy and promotes their well-being. The focus is on implementing an individualized approach that balances different ethical values, ensuring that the needs and preferences of each patient are considered during treatment. The paper explores ways in which these ethical values can be integrated into medical practice to improve patient outcomes while ensuring that their rights and freedoms are respected. For the purpose of confirming the set goal, methods of analysis, synthesis, description, compilation of evidence and rebuttal and comparison were used. Patients in the Republic of Croatia have the right to informed consent and refusal of medical procedure, which is based on the principle of autonomy and the right to self-determination, but this right is not absolute and is subject to certain limitations. A patient's refusal of medical procedure can lead to legal and ethical dilemmas for healthcare professionals, especially in situations where the procedure is necessary to save a life or prevent severe consequences for the patient's health. The existing legal framework in the Republic of Croatia provides adequate protection of patients' rights to informed consent and refusal of medical procedure, but it is necessary to further educate and sensitize healthcare professionals and the public on the importance of respecting patient autonomy while simultaneously appreciating their well-being and professional ethics. Consent to treatment and the right to refuse medical procedure, although not absolute, represent fundamental rights of patients. Exercising these rights can lead to legal and ethical dilemmas for healthcare professionals. Croatia has a relatively advanced legal framework for the protection of patients' rights, but there are challenges in practical application. Continuous education of healthcare professionals, raising public awareness, and strengthening mechanisms for supervision and protection of patients' rights are necessary.
